Happy Birthday Papa/Larry!! We had a great birthday celebration weekend at Fernandina Beach/Amelia Island. In March the weather can still be very cold. We took our chances knowing it would be cool. We picked Hana up at school on Friday and headed to the beach. Saturday was gorgeous on the beach. Temperature was 80 degrees. However, late that afternoon the rains came in and the temperature dropped. Sunday morning it was 50 degrees. Brrrrr for the beach. We were so thankful for the beautiful Saturday. We enjoyed watching Hana get in the ocean (water about 50 degrees), playing in the sand and flying her kite. It felt wonderful to put our feet in the cool sand. Larry and I sat in our beach chairs and totally relaxed.
Sunday afternoon we arrived home. Larry made a big pot of chili. We invited our neighbors Bob and June over for chili. June had called me prior to leaving for the weekend. She said she was making Larry a birthday cake. She made his favorite, chocolate cake with white icing! We had a fun filled weekend that ended with CAKE!!!!!!!

Tooth Fairy or No Tooth Fairy
OK so the tooth fairy was very generous indeed! $5.00 for the first tooth and a hand written letter to Hana.
Hana was so excited about the tooth fairy coming. She did not want to put the tooth under her pillow. I said that was ok because I had a special tooth box just waiting for her first tooth. See many years ago I dreamed of having a child and bought this adorable tooth box. Last night was special as Hana put her first tooth in the box. More tooth fairy stories to come.
Oh by the way, Hana took the tooth out herself. It bled like crazy and I think she wanted to cry but Larry and I were so excited for her she never was nervous. It all happened so fast. What a brave girl!
